Jill and Aaron’s Mesa Engagement session

Jill and Aaron braved record heat for their engagement pictures around downtown Mesa. I love Jill’s green shoes, their stylish Fedoras and Jill’s killer french braid. If my hair was long enough and I had the skills I would seriously braid my hair like that all the time. Jill and Aaron, who have known each other since high school, pretty much cracked each other up during the whole the shoot.  This is why I love engagement sessions- lots of laughing and  golden light. I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!

Tatiana and Luis’ downtown Phoenix engagement session

No two downtown Phoenix engagement sessions are ever the same with so many different places to explore. I love to search out color and texture as backdrops for my photographs. Tatiana and Luis are such a sweet and easy going couple. They both have wonderful smiles that light up the pictures.

Siobhan and Dustin’s Phoenix, Arizona engagement

I am really thankful that I listened to Siobhan and Dustin and did not reschedule their engagement session. The morning and early afternoon were plagued with thick gray clouds and rain throughout the valley. As our scheduled shoot time got closer it stopped raining so after some texts and phone calls we decided to go for it and hoped for the best. It turned out to be a beautiful evening as the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. We started at the Desert Botanical Garden where Siobhan and Dustin will be getting married in the spring.  We then headed to downtown Phoenix for some more grungy urban shots. Earlier in the week I stumbled upon the Valley of the Sunflowers along 6th Street in Phoenix so I was excited to take Siobhan and Dustin there. Valley of the Sunflowers transformed a 2 acre vacant lot into a field of sunflowers- which happens to be my favorite type of flower.

Curtis and Shelina’s urban engagement shoot- Phoenix, Arizona

Downtown Phoenix was the funky and urban backdrop for Curtis and Shelina’s engagement pictures. I love all the color and texture that you can find around Phoenix. I have had my eye on a specific parking garage with a great rooftop view so I was very excited to take some pictures up there as the sunset hit the surrounding buildings and reflected a warm glow. Shelina and Curtis are such a sweet and kind couple, I can’t wait for their wedding next year!
