Rupal and Anu’s Scottsdale engagement session

A golf outing, waterfall views, sunset gondola ride, including a personal serenade, capped off with a bonfire at dusk made for one romantic engagement session. Thank you Rupal and Anu for including me in your little Arizona get away and destination engagement session.

Meg and Clinton’s Tucson engagement session

I grew up outside of Washington DC in Virginia so photographing weddings primarily in Arizona I didn’t think I would ever have the fun of shooting a wedding for anyone from my home town. Luckily that changed. I have known Clinton since high school and our families are close friends. Clinton has lived in Tucson for about a decade and Meg’s family has been in Tucson since the 1800s. When Meg contacted me about photographing their wedding next year I was thrilled. I have to say it was really great to reconnect with Clinton again after so many years and to meet Meg who is simply fabulous. I met them at their home for some photos with their dogs Roxy and Trixie before heading to historic downtown Tucson for more photos. It was important to capture the feel Tucson with all its old and colorful charm. I can’t wait for their wedding next year, it is going to be beautiful!

Marnel and Mark’s desert engagement session

Fresh from her hair and makeup trial Marnel looked beautiful for her and Mark’s engagement session. They wanted photos that felt like Arizona, prickly trees and all so I think we accomplished that! I love that Mark and Marnel came prepared for their photo shoot with two outfits and a change of shoes so that we could go on a mini photo hike adventure complete with a cave built for two.

Michelle and Tim’s Old Town engagement session- Scottsdale, Arizona

It always makes me happy when a couple tells me at the end of a shoot that the experience was a lot more fun and not awkward like they were expecting. I would never have guessed Tim and Michelle had any camera apprehension because they were such naturals in front of my lens.

Stephanie and Jeff’s Sedona, Arizona engagement session

Driving north on 17 I watched as a dark storm rolled over the desert headed straight for me. By the time the rain and pellet sized hail got to me around Camp Verde visibility on the highway wasn’t more than a few yards. As the rain passed and I drove out of the storm, it’s general westward direction was a little worrying since I was meeting Stephanie and Jeff for their engagement session in Sedona. We were all driving up from the Valley and no one wanted rain. Clouds yes, overcast OK, but not a down pour. I met up with Stephanie and Jeff at Tlaquepaque and we seriously lucked out without a drop of rain the rest of the evening. By the end of our shoot on a vista overlooking the red rock formations of Sedona below, the flat cool light made Stephanie and Jeff look like they were standing in front of a painting.
