When photographing children the number one thing a photographer must be is flexible. I recently photographed Connor and his lovely parents David and Sonya for some family portraits. Connor is 2 1/2 and he had absolutely no interest in sitting for a picture, and why should he? It was a beautiful day and there was so much to explore! Connor was happiest completely ignoring me and playing in a tree and that is when I got some of my cutest photos.
Family portraits are a fantastic way to mark a moment in time. I had photographed business head shots for Lorie earlier this summer so when her extended family was in town she hired me to shoot some family pictures. It was a special occasion and a rare happening for the extended family to be together in Arizona.
The photo above is a classic! Lorie and her husband wanted photos with their two little grandchildren but there was no calming them down and hysterics ensued. Sometimes things don’t go as planned and you just have to laugh it off. Try as you may when a child decides they have had enough there is very little you can do! It was kind of a hilarious situation and as it turns out this photo is going to be Lorie’s Christmas card this year!
