AP Environmental Science at Basis.
I had a great day of shooting for the Washington Post last week. I worked with reporter Nick Anderson on a story about different charter schools in Arizona. I traveled with him to three different schools- Basis Scottsdale, NFL Yet and Children First Academy the nations largest school for homeless children. Each school had its own philosophy and energy. At Basis in Scottsdale I photographed an algebra class full of nine year olds! NFL Yet is a school that received a $1 million grant from the NFL when the Super Bowl played n Phoenix in 1996. It was fun to be around so many great kids and motivated passionate teachers. Shooting for the Washington Post is special for me because it is the newspaper I grew up reading and my parents still get it delivered everyday.
